Spine-Chilling Soiree: Halloween at Gore Manor

We visited Gore Mansion (in Waltham) on a dark and stormy night one recent October, and we sat around by candlelight as they read some super scary stories aloud. It was mysteriously spooky and all together cooky.

Finding great books is easy these days. Just go to the library and don’t forget all the local bookstores too. We’re sure you’ll uncover some ghostly stories there in the haunted section, its way in in the back behind the magic door. Just follow the cobwebs, and the creaky stairs. And Dev’s all for supporting the local book shops. Some of her favorites are Belmont Books and Wellesley Books.

Enchanting Pages: A Classy Bookstore Experience

Dev’s newest favorite is the new book store in Beacon Hill, Beacon Hill Books & Café. Beacon Hill Books & Cafe is Boston’s newest hangout around the corner, where a lovingly curated selection of reads meets a warm atmosphere, pop-ups and literary events, and a full-range menu of locally sourced fare. This shop is their love letter to Boston. A spot to gather, discover, learn, and most of all, have fun. A spot for afternoon tea with friends, or where a solo adventurer can relax with a book and a bite. Dev loves their “comfy cozy nooks.” It takes a village to open a bookstore, and a community to make it thrive. Devon is a patron here and urges you to stop by.
