De-Stressing for the Holidays

Simple Steps to Keep Calm and Enjoy

The holiday season doesn’t have to be stressful! In fact, a few simple practices can help us keep calm, focused, and full of joy throughout this busy time. Here are some of our favorite ways to de-stress and make the most of the holidays.

Plan Ahead

Creating a to-do list and tackling it one task at a time can work wonders. Write down everything you need to do, then check off each item as you complete it. Not only does this keep you organized, but the act of checking items off is also deeply satisfying.

Just Breathe

Take a few moments each day to simply breathe. Many of us are so busy that we’re almost on autopilot, forgetting to pause and take a deep breath. Stopping for even a few focused breaths can help realign your energy, boost focus, and lower stress levels.

Practice Gratitude

There’s something miraculous about gratitude. When we focus on the blessings we have instead of what we lack, we begin to feel like we have more. Start each day by thinking of a few things you’re grateful for. As we say, “Keep Looking Up”—especially during the holidays!

Shift Your Perspective

When we view the holidays as joyful, wonderful, and magical, they become just that. If we see them as stressful, they’re likely to feel that way, too. Try to focus on the wonder and magic of this season, and you’ll find more joy around you. What we focus on expands...so keep your eyes peeled for enchantment.

Embrace the Season of Giving

Think of the holidays as a chance to share your love and gratitude. Whether it’s giving presents, making a phone call, or sharing your time, the season is all about creating memories with loved ones. Making others happy can be a powerful antidote to stress.

The Plain Jaine Foundation

Dev suggests The Plain Jaine Foundation: They are a boutique approach to giving. With a focus on children who have experienced trauma and neglect, the Plain Jaine Foundation exists to bridge the gap between those who want to give and those who live in critical need. The hustle of daily life can create a disconnect between our deep desire for service and the organizations that thrive on our participation. Enter: Plane Jaine Foundation, the connective tissue between your heart’s devotion and your brain’s intellect. With years of collective experience volunteering and assisting donors, Plain Jaine Foundation is your charitable spirit guide, here to support your philanthropic experience by piloting your participation and maximizing your positive impact.

Savor the Season’s Treats

Finally, we must mention a few of our seasonal favorites! First up, Ho Ho Joe’s Coffee from Beanstock in Truro, Massachusetts. It’s a holiday must-have here at C. Devon’s Homes. Some of us have even dubbed it the drink of the season (alongside beloved Eggnog Lattes and Mistletoe Martinis, of course). Speaking of Eggnog Lattes, don’t miss one from Honey Dew Donuts—we can’t do any Christmas shopping without it!

And last but certainly not least, we have to highlight Sugar Plum Jelly by Stonewall Kitchen. This festive holiday treat will instantly de-stress you. You can’t be stressed while enjoying anything with sugarplum! We love this delectable concoction on warm toast or croissants, especially on Christmas morning. It makes the holiday all the merrier and pairs perfectly with your favorite holiday tea or coffee.

As a bonus de-stressor, indulge in a Laura Mercier Bubble Bath in Crème Brûlée or Ambre Vanillé Honey. Both are ultra-fabulous. The latter boasts a quiet sensuality with amber blending into the warmth of vanilla, enhanced by fresh notes of tangerine and tiger orchid, the delicious essence of almond and brown sugar, and a final hint of musky sandalwood. It’s soft, intimate, and absolutely addictive.

We swear—you won’t find a more luxurious, relaxing, or better-smelling bubble bath on earth! You can thank us later.

Take a few moments to savor these simple joys, and treats, and you’ll feel lighter and more grounded this holiday season. Wishing you peace, joy, and all the Ho Ho Ho’s you can handle!
