Renee’s Crispy Orange Oatmeal Cookies

A zesty twist on a classic cookie!

 

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tbsp salt

  • 1 stick softened butter

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup lightly packed light brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp orange zest

  • 1 large egg (room temp)

  • 1.5 cups rolled oats

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper & lightly grease.

  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl and set aside.

  3. In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter, both sugars, vanilla, and orange zest until smooth and fluffy.

  4. Add the egg and mix on medium-low until fully combined.

  5. Add dry ingredients and mix on medium-low until just incorporated.

  6. Mix in the oats on low speed until evenly mixed.

  7. Drop rounded teaspoons of dough 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet.

  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are dark golden and the centers are crisp.

  9. Let cool on the cookie sheets. Perfect for Friendsgiving!

 

Tip: These cookies are extra tasty with a cup of tea!
