Renee’s Crispy Orange Oatmeal Cookies

A zesty twist on a classic cookie!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tbsp salt
1 stick softened butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup lightly packed light brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp orange zest
1 large egg (room temp)
1.5 cups rolled oats
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper & lightly grease.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter, both sugars, vanilla, and orange zest until smooth and fluffy.
Add the egg and mix on medium-low until fully combined.
Add dry ingredients and mix on medium-low until just incorporated.
Mix in the oats on low speed until evenly mixed.
Drop rounded teaspoons of dough 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are dark golden and the centers are crisp.
Let cool on the cookie sheets. Perfect for Friendsgiving!
