Gramma’s Stuffing

A Spaulding Family Tradition!

This family recipe from West Virginia is a staple at Sydney’s (one of our valuable team members) Thanksgiving table. It’s simple, delicious, and made with love—just the way Gramma always did it!

Ingredients:

  • 1 box stuffing mix (we keep it easy on Thanksgiving!)

  • 2 sticks salted butter (the most important part in our family!)

  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced

  • 3-4 celery stalks, diced

  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves

  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped

  • 2 ½ - 3 cups chicken broth (check package directions)

Directions:

  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and celery, sautéing until soft and translucent (about 5-7 minutes).

  • Stir in the fresh chives, rosemary, thyme, and sage, cooking for another minute until fragrant.

  • Pour the box stuffing into a large bowl and add the chicken broth and butter/herb mixture.

  • Mix until the liquid is absorbed and the stuffing is fluffy and well-combined.

  • Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and heated through.

Tip: This stuffing is the perfect side dish to make your Thanksgiving meal feel even more like home.
