Gramma’s Stuffing
A Spaulding Family Tradition!
This family recipe from West Virginia is a staple at Sydney’s (one of our valuable team members) Thanksgiving table. It’s simple, delicious, and made with love—just the way Gramma always did it!
Ingredients:
1 box stuffing mix (we keep it easy on Thanksgiving!)
2 sticks salted butter (the most important part in our family!)
1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
3-4 celery stalks, diced
2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
2 ½ - 3 cups chicken broth (check package directions)
Directions:
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and celery, sautéing until soft and translucent (about 5-7 minutes).
Stir in the fresh chives, rosemary, thyme, and sage, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
Pour the box stuffing into a large bowl and add the chicken broth and butter/herb mixture.
Mix until the liquid is absorbed and the stuffing is fluffy and well-combined.
Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and heated through.
Tip: This stuffing is the perfect side dish to make your Thanksgiving meal feel even more like home.
