Beach Reads

First, since it’s still summer and the weather is hot… BEACH READS:

Dev absolutely loves Elin Hilderbrand. You don’t have to be on Nantucket to enjoy Elin’s breezy, heartfelt style. She’s got more than 20 books, so there’s plenty to choose from. One of Dev’s faves is 28 Summers, a bittersweet love story set against the backdrop of seasonal island life. Dev likes to say, “It’s not really summer until you read Elin!”

And Devon just finished her Summer of 1969 and she declared, “This might be my new favorite.”  She also wanted us to mention the book The Perfect Couple which is one of Elin’s books and now a Netflix series as well!

We also recommend:

Dev’s writer, Renee, particularly enjoys the classics. “You just can’t beat The Great Gatsby or Pride and Prejudice, no matter what the season.” She also recommends The Other Madisons — someone in her writers group got published and the book is fantastic. (Check out the Wikipedia page; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Other_Madisons_) And Renee loves any book by her dear friend, Roland Merullo. Check out Revere, in Those Days, or Breakfast with Buddha, just to name two out of his thirty-nine super fabulous books!

Dev’s Boston Gal, Masha is an avid reader, and here are some books that truly touched her:

Kristin Hannah – The Women

A gripping, emotional novel following a young nurse in Vietnam as she faces the brutality of war, the bonds of sisterhood, and the struggles of returning to a divided America.

Marjan Kamali – The Lion Women of Tehran

A moving, intergenerational story of friendship, love, and identity, set in Tehran during the political upheaval of the late 20th century.

Coco Mellors – Blue Sisters

A darkly witty and heartfelt novel about three estranged sisters who reunite after a tragedy, confronting long-buried secrets and the messy love that binds them.

Caitlin Weaver – Things We Never Say

An intimate exploration of marriage, motherhood, and the truths we keep hidden, told with tenderness and sharp emotional insight.

Emily Franklin – The Lioness of Boston

Based on the life of art collector Isabella Stewart Gardner, this lush historical novel captures the defiant spirit of a woman who dared to live on her own terms.

Two more we think you’ll love:

Ann Napolitano – Hello Beautiful

A modern homage to Little Women, following four sisters through love, loss, and the ties that can both heal and hurt.

Taylor Jenkins Reid – Malibu Rising

A glamorous, page-turning family drama set in 1980s Malibu, where one unforgettable night changes everything for four famous siblings.

Happy Reading....remember, its good for your brain😊... and for those of you who have trouble falling asleep - many find it helps listening to books on tape/audible/kindle. We find having someone read to you works like a charm.
