Plum Island Beach, Newburyport, Massachusetts

Here at C. Devon’s Homes, we all have a soft spot for Plum Island for one reason or another. This family-friendly beach offers many fun and interesting activities. Discover the amazing birdwatching and natural history. Plum Island is named for the beach plum shrubs that grow in the dunes. We can’t wait to spread our towels and set up our chairs here.

Wingaersheek Beach, Gloucester, Massachusetts

Wingaersheek is exceptionally gorgeous with its climbing rock formations. It has a low-tide sandbar and tide pools. You will surely find seashells, hermit crabs, and sand dollars. Kids LOVE IT! We feel like we can live forever when we look out from the shore at these two favorite spots. Both have parking, but Wingaersheek is a smaller beach, so we suggest you get there EARLY if you want a spot.

Singing Beach, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts

This (almost) half-mile beach is surely magical. It’s very hard to find parking in the area, and the locals are very protective of the beach parking lot. It’s for residents ONLY, and they do enforce it. Yet, only less than half a mile away, there is some street and shopping area parking. If you are lucky enough to find a spot, the walk to the beach is worth it once you see how gorgeous this beach actually is. It’s dreamy, like the French Riviera, and our writer, Renee, says, “Hands down my favorite beach!” They call it Singing Beach because the sand sings as you walk across it. Come on down and see and hear for yourself. Go once, and you will absolutely want to go back again! While you’re in town, be sure to check out one of Devon’s favorite hot spots: Bravo by the Sea for some of the best pizza in MA!

Ballston Beach, Truro

For those visiting Cape Cod, Cape Cod Magazine has voted Ballston Beach in Truro the best beach on Cape Cod. Truro is quintessential Cape Cod, and we have featured it in past posts. Ballston Beach is located on the ocean side of the Cape and is a picturesque spot to enjoy the day.

Bayside Resort

Duxbury Beach Park, Duxbury, Massachusetts

Duxbury Beach Park is one of Devon’s absolute favorites! The beach is clean and accessible, with plenty of parking. We recommend going at low tide to have the BEST beach day!

Cooper’s Beach, Southampton, New York

Cooper’s Beach on Long Island, NY, is Devon’s pick for one of the best beaches on the East Coast. It is rated as one of the top ten beaches in America! Enjoy the scenic backdrop of gorgeous nature and even more gorgeous houses while you soak up the white sand beach air. Complete with a bathhouse, concession stand, and chair/umbrella rentals.

Bound Brook Island Beach, Wellfleet

It’s considered the best-hidden beach by all who have visited. This sandy beach on Cape Cod Bay is accessible only through a one-mile dirt road. This remote location features clean beaches, minimal noise, and unobstructed views of the sunset. We love it, and so do the lucky handful of others who are in the know. Grab your beach towel and don’t forget the sunscreen.

Crowe's Pasture Beach, Dennis

A narrow trail alongside marshlands and woods in the conservation area leads to a hidden beach at the end of a mile-long dirt path. The beach, a mix of sand, marshy lands, and sea grass, is one of the more secluded spots on the entire Cape. We think it’s worth the hike. Take some of that great Cape Cod coffee with you or walk off some of that delectable French pastry from Boulangerie.

The Knob, Falmouth

And speaking of secluded, one of the best-kept secret spots is the most scenic - The Knob in Falmouth. The Knob is named for the knob-shaped patch of seacoast at the end of a mile-long pedestrian causeway between Quissett Harbor and Buzzards Bay. It offers panoramic water and coastal lookouts. As Devon would say, “This is some prime location.” For photo buffs, early morning offers a breathtaking sunrise over the harbor with multiple species of birds, which are most active in the morning.

This extraordinary area is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, which protects the fragile ecological system, ensuring the preservation of its beauty and the natural habitat living in it.
