🇺🇸 Battle of Bunker Hill 250th Anniversary (June 8–17, 2025)

Charlestown will host a series of events to honor the Battle of Bunker Hill:

June 8–15: Celebrate Charlestown Community Week featuring a block party, bar crawl, talent night, doll carriage parade, and a 5K road race.

  • June 13–17: Revolution Ignited Festival with battlefield archaeology, exhibits, storytelling, and a beer garden.

  • June 15: Bunker Hill Parade celebrating Charlestown's heritage.

  • June 16: Bunker Hill Monument 200th Anniversary including a reenactment of the cornerstone laying.

  • June 17: Bunker Hill Day: A Tribute to Higher Ground with remembrance events at the Bunker Hill Monument and St. Francis De Sales Church. 

 

🎶 Echoes of Valor Concert (June 17, 2025, 7:00 PM)

At the Hatch Memorial Shell, the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus will perform a free concert honoring the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and the Battle of Bunker Hill. The event includes a ceremonial procession starting at 6:00 PM from the Edward Everett Statue in the Boston Public Garden. 

 

🗺️ Boston Lighthouse Cruises (Saturdays, June 28 – September 20, 2025)

Explore Boston Harbor's role in the Revolutionary War and the Siege of Boston through weekly boat tours. These cruises offer insights into the area's historical significance. 

 

🏛️ Exhibit: "Upon Such Ground" (March 18 – June 17, 2025)

The Commonwealth Museum (220 Morrissey Blvd Boston) presents an exhibit showcasing Massachusetts' pivotal role in the Revolution. Artifacts include Paul Revere’s engraving plate, a drum from the Battle of Bunker Hill, and the sword of Major John Buttrick. The exhibit is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with free admission and parking. 

 

🕊️ Sacred Rebellion: Congregationalists in Revolutionary Massachusetts

  • Dates: Saturday, June 7 – Sunday, June 8, 2025

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Location: Congregational Library & Archives, 14 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

  • Details: This in-person exhibition highlights the stories of Massachusetts Congregationalists drawn from the CLA’s important collections. By the time the war began, many Congregationalists had embraced a theological justification for war and revolution. They believed that God favored them and that their cause was righteous.

🗺️ Juneteenth Underground Railroad Tour of Beacon Hill

  • Date: Saturday, June 21, 2025

  • Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Location: Beacon Hill, Boston, MA

Details: Join Hub Town Tours on Juneteenth for a special Underground Railroad Tour of Beacon Hill. Explore Boston’s role in the fight to end legalized slavery and celebrate local abolitionists that helped to lead America’s “Second Revolution.” This 2.5-hour walking tour will visit sites along the Black Heritage Trail, including abolitionist landmarks like the African Meeting House and the home of Lewis Hayden.
