Plymouth Plantation

(Now Plimoth Patuxet Museums)

Plimoth Patuxet Museums (formerly Plymouth Plantation) is a living history museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It recreates the original settlement of the Plymouth Colony, as well as the Wampanoag homesite, showcasing the life of the Native Americans who lived in the area. The museum presents daily life in 17th-century New England, with costumed interpreters who engage in interactive demonstrations of farming, cooking, and crafting. It highlights both the Pilgrims' and Native Americans' perspectives during this pivotal time in history.

And Devon first came to Plymouth Plantation in the fifth grade all the way from Bronxville NY and “fell in love with everything Massachusetts.” We know Devon, and she still loves everything Massachusetts!

Thanksgiving Parade at Plymouth Plantation

This special parade is held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and is called the America’s Hometown Thanksgiving. This event features floats, marching bands, military bands, reenactors, and other performers.

This parade is historically accurate, representing American history from the 17th through the 21st century!

Free parking and event is broadcast live on WCVB Channel 5. This is one of Devon’s favorite parades. She tells us its such a lovely way to spend a fall day in New England!
