A Night Out with Devon

A Thursday Night Was Never So Sublime

… and spending it with Devon and her other half Scott is quite amazing!

Whether you're looking to celebrate a special occasion, unwind after a long week, or simply create lasting memories, Devon's ideas are sure to show you a good time!

Follow along with us as we explore Boston with the girl who knows it all… Read on!

Devon loves to shop.... And when she's not on Amazon, she's out and about at the wonderful shops in Boston, where there are many. Her very favorite store is on Charles Street, and it's called Upstairs Downstairs. This superbly curated antique shop has something for everyone and at varying price points. The owner Laura, will help you select the perfect piece just right for you. She has done an impeccable job for the store, for Devon, and she will do the same for you.

So naturally, Devon's first stop on our big night out was a little soirée at the aforementioned, Upstairs Downstairs on Charles Street, in the ever-fabulous Beacon Hill. We sipped champagne, listened to some wonderful live music, all while Devon, and many others perused and selected some great pieces. There is so much to see there (including works by local artist) so we highly recommend going in person and have Laura the owner help you personally select just the right items to adorn and decorate your home. Still looking for your dream home for all your favorite shopping finds? Look no further, Devon has you covered!

The Charm of Charles Street

Next, we strolled and promenaded along Charles Street. And if you haven’t been there in a while, we are here to remind you IT’S THE BEST!

Dev and I could have easily spent an hour at every store window, but we just stood there, wide-eyed, taking in the marvelous array of trinkets, accessories, clothing, and home furnishings. We indulged in a bit of fancy window shopping. Dev's impeccable taste and high spirit for life are truly infectious. We had so much fun, and Dev’s got a great eye, we might even feature a new section called Renee’s Raves, and Dev’s Delights!

Beacon Hill Books & Cafe

Right next door to Upstairs Downstairs, is Devon's favorite bookstore called Beacon Hill Books & Café. It’s Boston's newest hangout in Beacon Hill where a lovingly curated selection of reads meets a warm atmosphere, pop-ups, and literary events, and a full-range menu of locally sourced fare. They happened to be celebrating their one-year anniversary. For anyone who loves to read this is an absolute must. What an exquisite shop.

As a writer, you could hardly drag me out of there! The shop is filled with a myriad of literary treasures and we are told they have great food too, even fine teas and homemade popovers.

Linens on the Hill

Next, we strolled over to some of Devon's cherished shops. Linens on the Hill, a haven for all things baby-related, fine linens, and aromatic candles, instantly drew her in. We peered through the window, coveting all the delightful items.

Afterward, we ventured to J. McLaughlin, a boutique close to Devon’s heart. This is where Devon's signature clothing choices come to life, reflecting her personal style with every selection. You can’t go wrong with clothing from this well-established shop.

1928 - Beacon Hill

This elegant restaurant with traditional American dishes, 1920s-style cocktails & a bourbon menu is called 1928 and happens to be one of Dev’s favorite places for a bite and a drink. It’s almost like a secret restaurant tucked away amongst the homes up on Beacon Hill.

Walking in, it instantly became my new favorite. Everything about this place is fab fab fabulous! They have those charming little table lamps that cast a warm and romantic glow. The ambiance at this almost secret restaurant, tucked among the homes of Beacon Hill is fantastic. When you step inside you are reminded of old Hollywood. And if Marilyn Monroe was alive today, she’d be sipping champagne at 1928 in her Chanel No5.

Dev wins my heart every time with her taste for everything first-class and spectacular. In 1928 is in that category. It’s swanky, posh, cozy, and uniquely cool. We grabbed a seat at the gorgeous bar, there just happened to be three waiting for us. We sipped prosecco and rose, then proceeded to order; delectable grilled octopus, prime rib, stuff veal chop, and even some of the best homemade bread. What a treat! The staff was extremely friendly and we felt right at home. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

After a delightful evening of shopping, dinner, and cocktails, we decided to take a leisurely stroll. It was an incredible early fall evening that felt more like summer. The weather was divine.

Our Collection of The Doors of Beacon Hill:

Thanks to Devon's extensive network, we found ourselves constantly running into familiar faces and even made new friends along the way. As we headed home, I found myself carrying a delightful assortment of savory baked goods, including some adorable homemade apple-pumpkin pies. It was a charming encounter with one of the gracious neighborhood residents, who had just returned from a house-warming party and generously offered us these delectable treats."

We share this with you, in the hope that you can find the time to enjoy a night with friends, and how that can easily become a fun memory. Boston's historic streets hold fantastic shops and restaurants, ready to serve and delight. We look forward to seeing you out and about, enjoying your own adventures. Count on us to bring you the best of Boston and beyond—it's what we do, and it's 100% DEVON!

Oh, Oh, Boston, you're our home, and that's what truly matters. And always remember, when it comes to finding your perfect home, Devon is here to lend a helping hand!
